We conducted a survey across SIM with 62 students from different partner universities. Here are some of the critical information we have gathered:

-
71% of students were aware of the Student Learning Center (SLC)
-
Only 16.7% of students have used the service before
-
The top four reasons for students not using SLC was lack of time, inconvenience, lack of awareness towards services and embarrassment to seek help
-
78.6% of students recognise SLC will help them academically

Upcoming Events
There is a lack of participation towards SLC due to students' needs, commitments and concerns not being met.
Our Project
SLC is a valuable resource to the students of Singapore Institute of Management as it is vital in providing academic support. However, participation rates towards SLC and their services are low.
As students face increasingly greater demands in both their personal and school life, there is a higher chance for them to fall behind academically if they are unable to access help when they need it.

Our solution of an online platform for SLC recognises the commitments and concerns of students and is able to respond to their needs for greater flexibility and accessibility to SLC’s services.
Our Aim
Our aim is to increase the participation and awareness rates of SLC among SIM students.
In the long run, we also hope to create more favourable attitudes towards SLC and their services as well as encourage students to take responsibility for their learning by being proactive and seeking out SLC’s resources to improve academically.
